SF Chronicle: Parents of Stanford wrestlers send letter alleging fraud, deceit

Stanford wrestling, one of 11 sports programs slated for elimination by the university, is not going down without a fight.

A day after a dominating performance in the team’s first meet of the season at Cal State Bakersfield, an attorney for a group of wrestling parents accused the Stanford athletic department of deceit and fraud in a letter to the university.

“The goal for the clients, who are parents of some of the wrestlers, is to get Stanford to reinstate the wrestling,” said Domenic Spinelli, the Sacramento-based attorney retained by the parents.
